Lavender Hill - Flowers & Florists Directory

Ganell and Charley Pemberton named their farm Lavender Hill as a description of the steady slope upward from the Blanco River to the field at the top. Their life in retirement changed dramatically after they planted that field of lavender in October 2000. Visitors during the following spring were sparse as was the bloom, but in 2002 the bloom was lush and the visitors were many. The compound of buildings began with the construction of the guesthouse, followed by the barn, the main house, and then the garage. The barn has been remodeled to house the Lavender Gift Shop, and new sheds have been built to cover the farm equipment. Space for the new distillery has been found inside the barn where the fresh lavender is hung in bunches and dried.
