In the early 1940s sid and louise jary started a flower shop called jarys flowers. Our company was originally located in the basement of an early fred meyer department store in downtown salem. In september 1956 don johnson and alma jarvis bought the business which was then located in the old capitol shopping center located near the state capital building. A lot has changed in the 40 years jarys has been in business. Don johnson bought out his partner, alma jarvis. Jarys was forced to move out of the capitol shopping center to make room for a parking lot for state workers. We moved to 3800 liberty rd. S. In south salem. Don johnson eventually opened a couple more stores. Don johnson is now retired and the tradition of great quality and service was taken over by his son jerry johnson and daughter in-law samantha. We are fully computerized with the latest customer service technology. We are able to take orders over the phone or the internet, send via the ftd mercury system to a filling florist anywhere in the united states and canada, and can have the flower order delivered the same day if the order is received by 2:00pm.
