On the Island of Maui, about 3500 feet up the slopes of the worlds largest dormant volcano Mt. Haleakala, Tom and Jody Jewell raise over 50 varieties of protea flowers on their 18 acre flower farm. Protea flowers are known for their vibrant colors, ever-changing texture, and their drying abilities. Originally brought to Maui from South Africa, protea were named after the Greek god Proteus, known for being able to assume many forms, shapes, & identities. The protea flowers do the same as they dry in a month-long process. Thats what makes these unique arrangements so special. Each protea variety dries in its own unique form, bringing you years of enjoyment & aloha.
