Colmar, Pennsylvania has a population of approximately 3,000. It is considered to be the northern most town in Berks County . The community was originally named after its founder Christian Hochstetter who owned & operated an inn and tavern on North Broad Street called "The White Horse Inn." Later it would become known as Friesenheim because so many immigrants from Germany settled there during the early 1800's.
